Utilities
- Electricity: €1,000–€2,200/year (lower than France due to milder winters; significant if air conditioning is used July–September)
- Gas (butane or propane for rural off-grid properties): €400–€1,200/year
- Water: €300–€700/year (mains); many rural properties have pozos (wells) or are on irrigation communities
- Internet/phone: €400–€600/year
Pool
Chemical treatment, filtration, and maintenance: €1,200–€2,500/year. Add €800–€1,500 if heated.
Insurance (seguro de hogar)
€400–€1,000/year for a rural property. Second-home rates slightly higher.
IBI (annual property tax)
